Toronto-Phoenix Suns players wore their Spanish “Los Suns” jerseys for the club’s second game of its series against the San Antonio Spurs.

Donning these uniforms on May 5 would normally be a celebratory Cinco de Mayo gesture. But, the Mexican holiday is certainly not the reason for choosing alternate apparel. Put simply, “Los Suns” paraphernalia is an opportunity for the organization to protest Arizona’s new immigration policy. (more…)

Toronto-The Philadelphia Phillies and the club’s fans are as relieved as an American teenage girl would be to find her Blackberry, which had been lost for ten minutes.

After a thwarted terrorist attack, players and ticket buyers ought to enjoy the company of friends and family. In short, they all deserve days off, for the emotional pain that they had to endure is unparalleled.

Thanks to the courage of a local police officer, the lesson of carpe diem has been bestowed on the hitherto ignoramuses. Those in attendance at the Cardinals-Phillies series’ first tilt are, frankly, fortunate to be alive. (more…)

Toronto-Blue Jays fans, who are collectively near the bottom of the baseball intelligence list, lambasted J.P. Ricciardi before he was fired. The former general manager was clearly a moron for assembling good teams.

Now, the club actually has an incompetent employee-Cito Gaston. Yet, the groans are quieter than travelers would be on Alaska’s proposed “Bridge to Nowhere.” (more…)

Toronto-Harry Leroy Halladay III’s exit from Toronto has appropriately signaled the addition of a new Blue Jays’ sponsor. Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home Limited has been featured as an advertiser, nay donor, at the Rogers Centre. Surprisingly, the salesmen of death did not build the stadium. After all, when the roof is open, onlookers in high-rises experience a viewing. (more…)

Toronto-The battle for the final postseason position in the National Basketball Association’s Eastern Conference is less compelling than a war between Liechtenstein and Tuvalu would be. Like the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors, neither nation has armed forces. (more…)

Toronto-I shall forego the clichés. Spring is here; optimism is in the air; the boys of summer have returned, blah, blah, blah. Here are Anabolic Stories’ predictions for the 2010 MLB season. (more…)

Toronto-Apparently, Adam Sandler is more than just an avid hockey fan.

In an attempt to “bulk up for the playoffs,” the Atlanta Thrashers have signed Sandler for the remainder of the season. Terms of the deal were not released. (more…)

Toronto- Matt Cooke’s nasty hit on Marc Savard has set off an excrement storm. Opining on the National Hockey League’s supplementary discipline program (well, the lack thereof) has become as common on Canadian sports networks as middle finger salutes in New York City traffic.

A large segment of the hockey community has called for harsher penalties. Stronger punishment is certainly necessary. However, the NHL is not going to begin banishing players who do belong. Even if regulations are ameliorated teams will continue signing brutes. History does not dictate the possibility of a different outcome. (more…)

Toronto-The next few months will likely be Cristobal Huet’s last with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The most overpaid goaltender in the National Hockey League has underachieved since signing a four-year, $22.4 million pact with the Hawks in the summer of 2008. This season, the thirty-four year old has posted a poor .899 save percentage, which is ten points lower than the mediocre .909 clip he recorded last year. (more…)

Toronto-On Saturday night, CBC “analyst” Mike Milbury added to his moronic repertoire.

On Hockey Night in Canada’s Hotstove, the former Islanders general manager commented on the National Hockey League’s investigation into the headshots issue. (more…)
