Toronto-The Star-Spangled Banner claims that the United States of America is the “home of the brave.” On the surface, these lyrics appropriately describe a nation that is balancing two wars. However, the four words are insufficient because they do not include a 1993 amendment. America is the “home of the brave…” unless you are openly homosexual or bisexual, in which case wartime courage is disallowed. Indeed, the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy ensures governmental discrimination. It is, in short, legislated cruelty that lacks sensible explanation. (more…)

In a democratic society, violent protests are not a means to gain sympathy for an opinion. To all the vandals and cop car burners: You are moronic thugs. Nobody is going to listen to your lines of reasoning, even if they are sound. Leave my city and play Russian Roulette or whatever you idiots do to amuse yourselves. If you die in your aimless “uprising,” you will have only yourselves to blame.
Toronto City Councillors Adam Giambrone (Toronto Transit Commission Chair) and Karen Stintz participated in Anabolic Stories Radio segments to discuss the upcoming G-20 Summit.
Councillors Stintz and Giambrone both agreed that face-to-face meetings amongst world leaders are necessary, but had different opinions on the issues of compensating businesses that the conference will negatively impact.

The nation, apparently, ought to build grand pavilions in order to woo the world’s masses to travel to “our home and native land.” Perhaps, the conference will teach a few foreigners that Canadians do not live in igloos and ride polar bears. Toronto-Phoenix Suns players wore their Spanish “Los Suns” jerseys for the club’s second game of its series against the San Antonio Spurs.
Donning these uniforms on May 5 would normally be a celebratory Cinco de Mayo gesture. But, the Mexican holiday is certainly not the reason for choosing alternate apparel. Put simply, “Los Suns” paraphernalia is an opportunity for the organization to protest Arizona’s new immigration policy. (more…)
