James in Thornhill, Ontario asks…
Is it just me who is sick of Olympic hockey coverage?
Answer: You are not alone!
Hockey analysts in Canada have been discussing the upcoming Olympics for four years. And, since the announcement of the (men’s) club’s roster, the coverage has reached its highest level of obnoxiousness. Team Canada has not played a game since the 2006 Olympics, yet pundits find something to discuss. Who will be the starting goalie? Who will play with whom? Were the right players selected? Give it a rest! While the excitement is understandable, the scrutiny is boring.
The addiction to the men’s hockey team is almost as annoying as the daily Torch Relay updates. “The Olympic Torch was in Quesnel, British Columbia today. The city has a population of 9326.” Gee willikers! Flames are thrilling.
